| It seems a long way to go to photograph tortured metal - but this is one of the few sources of colour in this monochrome landscape. The sun at a constant 11 am angle does little for landscape photography either. All natural sources of colour are muted - apart from the vibrant lime green of the tundra - which would read as false in a photograph, and the minuscule flowers that carpet the arctic summer. Man's intrusion to the rescue, then. |
